Being Intentional in Your Business

      • Making changes both within your business and outside of your business can elevate the success you have in life.
      • Find the right people to support your office, treat them and pay them well so they stay.
      • If making a residential move makes sense, then do it. Dr. Tanya’s life is easier because she moved all components of her life near each other; home, kids’ schools, and office.
      • It is important to have a good friend or partner weigh in on your life objectively if you’re feeling like there could be a better version of how you are doing things.
      • Always have a Plan B. Once you make your Plan B, you can feel free to try your Plan A.
      • Dr. Tanya was driven by true connection with her patient/families. She was too busy to spend the time patients wanted from her and that was the catalyst for her decision to go outside of insurance and raise the level of care.

What is Concierge Care?

      • There are different models of concierge care. Some operate on “memberships” or yearly fees, and some patients pay directly at the visit.
      • The concierge practice provides all paperwork needed to submit to insurance for reimbursement.
      • A result of eliminating the third-party insurance work is that the provider is able to provide a higher level of care, spend more time with patients, and supply cost-effective appointments.
      • A concierge model can include extra benefits like; FaceTime, texts, and the provider meeting with the medical specialists they’re referring out to for a holistic approach.
      • Charge what you’re worth. Place value on your trade and the level of respect that your patients or clients will give you.
      • There are many different specialists within Dr. Tanya’s wellness center. To keep the financial aspect simple, she rents out spaces within the building and those businesses are not part of her practice or employees.

Media Madness

    • Dr. Tanya has been on television spots and other media outlets for more than 18 years.
    • There are different goals to achieve when putting yourself out in the media, her initial goal was to reach more people than possible in the office and provide a public health service to families.
    • Media creates brand awareness for her practice and also gives the opportunity to continually learn through research of other brands, products, and initiatives.
    • The first time Dr. Tanya went on The Today Show she felt miserable, sick to her stomach, and could not sleep. But when they invited her back, she kept saying yes. Keep at it. It gets easier and better with practice.
    • Dr. Tanya has coined the term “work/life integration” as opposed to “work/life balance” because so much of managing a busy life is integrating all parts and doing what you can, when you can.
    • Take care of yourself first. Eat well, sleep well, schedule time to exercise, and relax.
